How to use the manifesting method 'Scripting' to rewrite your stepmum story and create the life you want

Written By Charlotte Gough

Scripting is a powerful yet easy tool that I use with both my stepmum and manifesting clients, to help them move quickly from where they are right now to where they want to be.

Though you may think it a little 'woo-woo', it is actually grounded in science, and the method emerged as an offshoot of the NLP approach, where you are encouraged to visualise with all senses. How we communicate through our words and actions reflects how we subconsciously think about the world, and therefore determines what we believe is possible for us to attract.

What is the Scripting method and how does it work?

The idea behind Scripting is that you write down your goals and dreams as if they are already achieved. These words activate key parts of our subconscious, making us feel like it is already possible. It helps to rewire both our thoughts and actions to more positive, rather than more self-sabotaging and damaging ones.

It also helps us to get clearer on our goals.

Remember, wishy washy thoughts, get wishy washy results. If you are not sure what you want in life, how can life give you what you want?

It helps you to move past limiting beliefs, connect to your intuition, direct your energy and stay focused on your goals.

5 things to remember when Scripting

1. Write in the Present Tense

Write as if you already have whatever it is you want.

Want your stepkids do respect you?

Write as if they already respect you.

Want peace in your home?

Write as if you already peaceful and there is already peace in your home.

It is important to journal as if you were already living your goals.

2. Focus on what you Do want, rather than what you Don't want

A big part of the Law of Attraction & Assumption is to focus on what we want to attract, rather than what we don't want.

If you keep saying, no one ever respects me or listens to me.

Or I will never get a new job.

Or never have any money.

Or things will never work out for me.

It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

When Scripting it is important to focus on what you DO want.

3. Focus on the Feelings of having your Goals

Take a moment to visualise your perfect stepfamily set up? How does that feel?

Combining thoughts and feelings is incredibly powerful to create the life we want.

Is it not enough to just think our way into a situation, we also have to feel our way into it.

How does it feel to be respected? Or to feel like the insider in your stepfamily?

How does it feel to have the job/money/body you want?

Often we are so used to feeling how we don't want to feel, that feeling how we do want to feel, can take some practice.

4. Focus on Gratitude as you write

This is something I do anytime I use the Scripting method.

I write as if I am grateful for the things I want, as if there are already.

Eg: I am grateful that my stepkids help me around the home.

I think of all the things I have that I am already grateful for, to get me in the gratitude vibration.

Gratitude is one of the most powerful tools for manifestation, it creates a state of limitless abundance and shifts us into a mindset of anything is possible.

5. Get super clear on your desired vision

Like I said before, wishy washy ideas get wishy washy results.

Whether you want to attract something in your stepfamily life, or it something in your personal life, get super clear on what you want.

What is also important is that you work on your self-worth and self-belief around your goals.

You have to feel they are possible as you write, otherwise you will be adding the energy of 'It is not possible'.

It also has to feel safe within the body.

If your goal does not feel safe or possible, it will be harder for you to attract it.

Trust the timings of your Manifestations

What is really important to remember as you Script your new Stepmum Story, is that you have to trust the timings of what what you want to attract.

They could turn up almost instantly, such as when I remember Scripting as if my stepkids already helped me around the home.

I remember writing in my journal that morning, and in the early evening, they actually asked me if I needed help!

Some manifestations don't turn up so quickly though, and in these circumstances, we need to keep holding the vision, trust the timing, detach from the outcome and focus on being happy now, regardless of the actual outcome.

What kind of things can you manifest with the Scripting method?

You can manifest anything!

  • Improved relationships
  • Peace in your home
  • Confidence and self-worth
  • Money, a new job or business opportunities
  • Weight loss
  • New friends

The only limit, is the one that exists within you. Limits only exist within you, and your own limiting thoughts and beliefs.

How often should I use this method?

Ideally you want to use it once or twice a day, until you are starting to see the results.

Remember the goal is to write as if you already have your desired outcome, trusting it has no choice but to show up in your external reality, if you are feeling it internally.

If you are starting to feel bored, uninspired or heavy as you write - then STOP.

You don't want to be adding the energy of 'This isn't working', as you write.

In this circumstance, I would take a couple of days break, maybe revisit what you are writing and differ the angle, story or how you are writing slightly.

If you want to rewrite your Stepmum Story, but not sure how to get there, or what the next steps are....
